we celebrate 3 birthdays in July. Madison turned 15, Logan turned 10 and Joe is now 12!

Tom didn't celebrate a birthday, but he celebrated his accomplishments in his first Taekwondo competition. He was awarded the gold medal in forms (in the photo on the left) and a 4th place for 1-step sparring . He was very excited and pleased with his performance despite his nervousness.

We spent the 4th at the cabin and are looking forward to going back this weekend. Dad taught the boys how to play Texas Hold 'em so they have some additional life skills. We have to pay for college somehow!
We've also been enjoying the wildlife and nature in our back yard sactuary. Ken was able to photograph this little froggie sitting on our crazy moonflower. Ken planted one little plant and as you can see, it's much like kudzu in it's propensity to grow over and around everything. The white blooms of the moonflower are similar to a day lily in that the blooms only last for one night. They open at about 5:30pm, and by 8:00am, they are gone.
